Eleanor of Castile (after 1363 – 27 February 1416) was an infanta of Castile and the Queen consort of Navarre.

She was the daughter of King Henry II of Castile and his wife, Juana Manuel of Castile, from a cadet branch of the Castilian royal house. Eleanor was a member of the House of Trastámara

Marriage

In 1375 Eleanor married the later King Charles III of Navarre, the marriage put an end to the conflicts between Castile and Navarre. The couple had eight children, only daughters survived to adulthood so their eldest, Blanche succeeded Charles.

Only two of their children, Blanche and Isabella outlived their father, the rest died young but they did not all die in childhood.

Eleanor died on 27 February 1416, aged 53 and had outlived five of her eight children.
